Shorai

Last evening I tested the new Shorai in the V11. At rest, 13.30 VDC. Cranking was brief because of the almost instantaneous light off but the Fluke meter registered 12.2. Running voltage started at 13.8 and quickly climbed into the 14's. Shut down and back to 13.3. Next, the Shorai charger in store mode as recommended. Voltage up to 13.4 for a few seconds and then float mode. Another 1/2 hour of lights on, not running while testing the new Hyper-light installation. Voltage eventually crept down to 13.0 but back to 13.3 with the key off. Still in float mode.

After setting outside overnight, this AM the temp was 56F. No waiting, key on and crank-Immediate start, no pre-warming. Looks like the Shorai technology has the edge over Ballistic.

No seat pan interference.

Put a Shorai in my Suzuki SV-1000 sport bike a month ago.  I am totally happy with it, especially the 8# weight loss experienced.  This bike never sees temps below 50F so I don't know how it would do in cold weather (and don't care to--been there, done that when I lived in New York).  It sure does light up the engine pronto!
