photobucket is corrupting my mac.. I tried Flickr but they don't offer the [IMG] code to post pic directly..can anyone point me to another site that lists all the posting codes like Photobucket?

No, but photobucket is pissy on the ibm's too.  They're trying to push users into the cloud and making it aggravating if you choose otherwise.

I haven't noticed anything odd about Photobucket, and I use it daily.  Occasionally it opens a tab with an ad on it, and I close the tab.  Nothing else unusual.

I've been trying to upload photos of my LED/halogen performance tests via photobucket for several days.  Last time it not only didn't load the photos but when I went back to look at them on my local hard drive they weren't there anymore.

it started that way for me and then "clean your mac" pops up a new window as soon as I open photobucket. I empty cache and clear cookies but it still comes back.. sick of it.

You'll just need to make sure the files are less than 2Mb before trying to upload them.
Also if you want future access you'll need to save a copy of the url or just go back to the thread you posted on to find it.
I generally use Photoshop to reduce photo files, saving the smaller file next to the first one by adding an 'a' to the file name.
Then it's easy to find when browsing to upload.
I generally use 800 as the max size on the larger edge when resizing for a forum.
For instance, here's one of me on the right, Graham Brown who is an eminent medical researcher and the Lord Mayor of Melbourne.

It's one I prepared earlier.
After uploading you'll see a number of codes shown below the photo.
If you choose either the thumbnail or the show directly code, use the one called bbcode[forums] and simply copy and paste.
It comes already to use so you don't need to use the images insert function  or add your own '[img]' tags.

If you haven't already, install AdBlock and set your Safari preferences to Block Pop-Ups.
I recommend this to anyone whose computer I am asked to look at whether it be Windows or Mac.
Just as an example, you see that advertisement under Home icon, with AdBlock they don't appear.
In general you'll be amazed how much faster webpages in general will load and how much crap it stops being downloaded from websites. You can easily pause and un-pause and even disable it for specific websites if need be.
