1400 TOURING IN RED LEAVES MOTO GUZZI PORTLAND
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:14:16 PM »
My Buddy Mel has been looking at several different Guzzi's for a while now and finally bit the bullet and sprung for a New Red Touring last Saturday after the Oregon Guzzi Brunch. After picking up his bike at Moto Guzzi Portland, we headed off to a view point up on Mt. St. Helens to get a couple hundred miles on his new bike. Mel is loving this Guzzi !!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Should have pushed that scooter out of the way when you took the pictures.

Beautiful bike your buddy has there...On a side note. I actually saw St Helens erupt on 18 May 1980. My brother and I were throwing a nerf football around in our parents driveway in Sandy, Oregon. On a clear day you could see the summit of St Helens pretty easy from there. First thought was that it was a nuke. looked just like one. For years afterwards I wore a "Where were you when the Mountain blew" t-shirt. Still pretty vivid in my memory. That's something you just don't forget.

That's a beautiful bike! Thanks for the pictures, Steve.

(I, too, saw Mt. St. Helens erupt, and I had to drive through a bit of snow-like ash to get home that night.)

Any idea who makes the trailer hitch for the Cali?  How is the 65L trunk?

X2 on the trailer hitch question.  I was thinking of something like a small trailer to help in the luggage department

The trailer hitch was made by a friend in Seattle, and he's not planning on making any more. I love the 65 liter trunk, although it's not deep enough to fit a full face helmet. I really like the way it looks though. The smaller trunks are having cracking issues with the molding around the outside. There's quite a difference in price between the two.
