Tool Tubes

I've been thinking about doing this for a while. The HB Stryker bags aren't exactly huge, and due to the semi rigid design are not great for heavy articles such as tools, etc.  Not long ago someone posted a link here for tool tubes - http://thetooltube.com/MegaTube.html.  I bought two - one for a nicely stocked tool roll and another for a gas bottle "just in case".  They fit perfectly behind the C-Bow mounts, and provide the space to carry the tools and gas.  Fast shipping, and they come with mounting "C" clamps, bolts, and wire ties.  I went with the lockable version (small Master locks included).  Bike is a '14 V7 Special.  I'm happy with the results.

Word to the wise, nylon zip ties become brittle and break. I would use stainless hose clamps.

  red suspenders sez find a piece of 4" pvc pipe at any new home site(anything under 2' goes into the garbage) acouple of stainless hose clamps and a end cap(sometimes they r free too) and u r set.any left over spray paint is a bonus

I have one of the smaller tool tubes on mine.  I like it for those tools you need frequently (screwdriver, flashlight, rag, etc).  Nice to be able to get to the stuff without unpacking.

Yes, I've tried PVC methods (eg, I used one for carrying my tent poles).  I like the screw caps on these better.

I know. There's at least one clamp on both sides (not shown) and several redundant wire ties. Easy enough to swap out.  Those large ones you see are just extra security.  I have no red suspenders - PVC with end caps would look like shit and be heavier.  Not worth my time.
