Made another version from birds-eye maple. Putting several more coats of finish on it yet.

So are you considering producing them for sale?

Nah, just a project. I've got a business I run through my shop that keeps me busy enough. Besides, the human hand can't compete on price with this guys machine.

Just waiting for mine to be delivered... came to only ~$16 US (plus $0.50 foreign transaction fee). Hard to complain.

The problem with having a shop is always thinking "Hey, I can make that!"  Problem is you end up living without furniture.

For $15 these are a great tool to have since we check our oil so frequently.  It can be a pain on the fingers also w/o one.

Yeah....I've had a plan to make something similar for a while but....when someone has already, I'm in! I did ask for my Rego plate number on it instead but 'computer says no', it has to be numbers only, no letters or other characters.

MPH in Houston is making a version now.  I'll pick one up next time I'm out that way.  I'd love to see push in/pull out dipstick like I have on the big Stone.  I've become a costumed to checking a each stop.

Yes.  It looks neat and handy for sure.

I was #6 but mine hasn't arrived yet.  The mail just came so maybe in the next couple of days since others are getting theirs.

I ordered one of these on July 3 and received an email on July 5 saying that it was shipped.  I have not received it yet.  Is this normal for mail from Australia?

Yes.  Overseas mail is totally unpredictable for delivery times.  I've received some items that have come from China in less than a week and others that took a month.  Mine was shipped the same date as yours.  Since others are starting to receive them, I suspect that they will start showing up within the next few days.

Here's what it looks like. With the frame rails being so close, a longer handle would have been nice, but it probably wouldn't be so portable.

I just whipped my own up. Same time as an oil change.

Although cool in wood.  You have major short grain problems.  Sorry to say it will break sooner than later.  Believe it or not have I have a Master's degree in woodworking ( I know crazy).  I could go for a PH D (if they offered it) but thought that would be extra crazy.  Solid wood not so good, Plywood would be better, aluminum, metal or plastic best.

Come to think of it, I replaced the dipsticks on both my big blocks, but for a different reason, they were snug, just hard to read.

A member here machined new ones that were relative works of art.

Hi Kev, I am interested in a dipstick for my 850 big block. I filed a flat on the side of my dipstick but it's still not that easy to read. Any info on where to get a replacement would be appreciated.

Thanks
Cheers

Sadly, the board member who made the other ones moved on.

But maybe if you search the archives and try to contact him he'll consider another run...

Got mine in the mail yesterday. Added a lanyard made from 550 cord, and it works great. It lives in my tank bag.

My fast red one came in the mail today.  Cool, lightweight little tool.  Fits fine on a keyring.

Been called that too.

Finally used it for the first time yesterday. I LIKE IT!

I use it as a keychain for my HB bags, so it stays in the jacket anyway.

Option, but I just put it in the "service tool bag" under the seat.

I've had mine on my key chain since I got it.  It's so light that it's size isn't a bother.  It's a nice reminder to check the oil cap before a ride.
