I was out this morning. for a quick 130 mile spin on my 1974 Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone around some of the back roads near where I live. Here are a few pictures:

There are lots of these little ponds

I got out for a ride today, too, Nick.  The scenery in Toronto wasn't nearly as nice as that on your ride, though.     Can I come back to visit?

Cheers,

That gravel road looks like a nice, scenic ride. :thumb:

Beautiful country roads, I need to drive quite a ways out of town to find anything as pristine or quiet, you are a lucky man!

Lovely pics! Thanks for posting them.  :thumb:

In the 70's - 90's I loved to drive/ride out of Toronto into the countryside every chance to see the fields and forests that started north of the city. Over that time it took longer and longer to get away from the growing city area.

Fresh air was only available 40 -50 miles from the outskirts - thats how I knew when I was getting close returning to Toronto. PeeYoooo!

I'm fortunate to live a fair distance north of the 4th-largest city in North America, but I do have a 50km commute down to the very north tip of Toronto every day.  We're fortunate to have the best of both worlds up here -- large lots in a nice rural/agricultural area, but within 10 minutes of a small city that has pretty much everything we need.  Development is unavoidable in this area, though, and while it is starting to encroach, I can still be on nice country roads within a minute of my home.  It does take a bit longer to get to the type of entertaining roads that Nick has in abundance around his place.  I sometimes think that the people who laid out the road system of the Greater Toronto Area, were armed with nothing but a straight-edge, and had never heard of a French curve!

Cheers,
Shaun
