What do you all use when out and about, to prevent your kick standing from sinking into the asphalt?

Had a pad that came with an alarmed security lock..at one point in time..

Flattened beer/soda can. Readily available in almost every trash can and if you forget to pick it up (and you will)....oh well.

If you want to get fancy most shops give out plastic pucks for this exact purpose. If you need a high performance one Ducati has for sale a carbon fiber version

I have a piece of aluminum plate about 3x3 with a string tied to it. The string goes 'round a handgrip for easy pickup before taking off.

With a nylon boot string attached to a keyring large enought to slip on my handlebars.

I hogg out a stand foot sized hole in standard old hockey pucks.
I originally did it to give my Spot 1100 - and my nerves - a break in relation to that frightening geometry of the factory side sta... er, peg.

Later, I found it very handy in keeping other stands from seeking the center of the earth in the Arizona summers.

The Twisted Throttle in Exeter, RI has nice octagonal plastic ones in many colors, with a hole for tying a string. They do have the store logo, but they're free, light weight, and effective.

I laid a plate on a firm level surface and parked the bike with the kickstand on it. Than I welded it. I call it the cameltoe.

I have a magnetic kick stand pad, but now all of my bikes have plastic gas tanks, so I don't have a good place to put it. It's attached to my tool box since 2007.

The General Manager where I work had 'em pour a 12' x 30' cement pad for motorcycles. Haven't had to crush a beer can since.

After a year of leaving little divots in the parking lot the building I work at put in a motorcycle area. They staked a 1/4" steel plate across the spaces for the kickstands.

I carry one of those plastic cutting boards with a small rope attached to it. When on trips I slip it between the tankbag and the tankbag pad.

One of these days I'll get a piece of Al and cut to shape and bolt onto the existing foot.

The Harley dealers sell jiffy stand coasters. They are black pucks that have a wedge in them for the jiffy stand. They are like $12. That even have a hole for the string idea!!

This may go against your natural instincts to go"cheap"...but here you go...and you can pick the color of your choice!

Plus they work even on sand (at the beach) in case you venture out to the reasonably hard packed sections.

Sometimes the sidestand needs to be longer, sometimes shorter. Would be nice if there was a way of quickly adjusting the sideside.

The ideal stand would be able to adjust itself .... earthquake proof!

gees, I must have 6 kickstand coasters given to me at various motorcycle rallies and races. Barber and Indy come to mind.
