Blue Monza on eBay
« on: July 13, 2015, 08:26:05 AM »

You don't see these everyday. Not mine, but looks kinda nice. Too bad the fairing decal is on upside down:

I'm so confused it's a Blond thing, how can someone do a restoration and have it "fully sorted out" then explain that they're cutting the price by 15% due to a "inordinate amount of noise" coming from where-ever.  So is it good or bad?

Long ago I purchased a questionable "restoration" in my youth and found it to be very pretty junk.

Could be that he doesn't understand the Guzzi "character" of sounds and might be fine.  If it was mainly a cosmetic resto than the common stuff with old age will need to be addressed over time.  If someone doesn't mind replacing aged items then the mods done will suit them well.  It's tough getting a bike that "looks" this good, but I wouldn't expect it won't have issues down the road.  Old Guzzi's are projects.  Depending on a little luck and TLC some can be mitigated.  From his end, probably not smart to lose his shirt doing a full on cosmetic resto then selling.  Will be tough to get $6k I'd think.  If you're going to put big $$ into these things you better keep them.

A little optimistic on the price… Was the fluorescent flash stock on the Monza? I thought it was only on the Le Mans. Noisy primary? Ummmm, sounds familiar. I'd rather have money spent on engine and drivetrain upgrades than cosmetics.

Regarding the orange fluorescent graphics-- yes that's original. He has it almost right. Except the line around the headlight should be underneath. He has it upside down!

Primary drive? What primary drive? It's not a Triumph! Might be hearing a loose cam chain. Makes me think he hasn't done a thing with the drive train.

Actually, there is a primary drive on the small block transmission. It's how they change the gearing depending on what use it is for. Nato? Lario? V7? etc.
