Anyone tried Parabellum windshield on Breva 11/12?
« on: July 22, 2015, 03:46:09 PM »
I love the v1200 sport fairing on my B1100 for it's looks and for it's size reasonable coverage.  But after having a Swannee type H & H on my Bassa I know for me, how much more comfortable it is to ride behind for long distance.

What I would like it to be able to with back and forth over the season form my current sport fairing to a Swannee, but as Chris Coili found out the sponsons just get in the way.   So I thinking of the Parabellum,  22" or 24", I have seen a couple here and there at rallies but never got a chance to take to the riders.

Chad,  I've mounted 5 or 6 of them on B11's. They are nice through the wind. They are made up by Riders Hill in Dalonega, GA    It's also a family business.

I have seen two in person, to be honest I can't get past the look.  I can't imagine it's not buffeting behind that 4' tall barndoor... That's to say nothing of the look, which is... errr ummm ahhh  not a sporting look

I have run my breva naked, with the stock touring screen, and stock screen + laminar lip... all were pretty rough. I find the 1200Sport fairing + moose racing handguards to be the slickest, quietest combo.

Check out these Rifle Sport fairings www.rifle.com/Motorcycle-Fairings/Rifle-Fairings.aspx   My favorite is the Sport fairing.   Made in Calif.

I have a tall Parabellum shield on my Breva 1100. It works well for me. I'm a big guy, 6'1", 330 lbs, with a long trunk and 37" sleeve length. I added the heavy factory spring tothe rear shock and if I crank in all of the preload, raosing the ear of the bike, a little wind blast hits the top of my 3XL Shoei helmet.

I like the bike naked for the clean wind blast but the Parabellum is nice also.

I had tried the factory shield, factory shield with an add on strip, factory shield raked back with modified mounts, cut down factory shield mounted different ways and an Eagle shield

I had that Givi on my Breva for a couple years, it was no better than the stock 1200 screen.  I am 6 6", and most my height comes from my trunk, which makes me a real freak.

I agree the Parabellum looks absurd, but for long distances, and something that actually moves some air, I have yet to see anything else close.

I have the Parabellum and the MRA X-Creen touring spoiler to boot. I have a messed up rotator in my right shoulder and riding any distance without a subsequent night of discomfort was very rare. So fugly or not it has provided me with the opportunity to ride all day and still sleep with minimal meds. If you are one of the ones that still need that full blast of wind as you ride then power to you but if you are aging with the normal and not so normal aches and pains but refuse to give up the riding and the use of a "barndoor" makes it possible then power to ya.

Cheers

Pictures??? I'm the one who tried to use a Aerofoil on my 1200 Sport but would have to resort to a sawzall to make it fit! Probably better to cut on the bike as the faring likely has better resale value
