72 Eldo oil leak

When I got this old eldo this spring i serviced all the fluids and on the engine ran Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer at the recommended amount. The old gal would puke out a fairly good amount of oil after each ride when parked. Finally had about 1500 miles on it so I changed the oil again and just stuck with a good quality 20W-50 but no oil stabilizer. My gal has decided she likes it this way and has not spit any oil on the ground since. Any idea's on why it liked to spit out the thick stuff? Just curious as to why it did. Other than that it's been many trouble free miles and running great.

Where did it leak? Maybe it was just overfilled.

I was telling the original owner of a high milage Eldo about how mine spits oil out of the universal area. He told me the original rear shocks were likely too soft letting the shaft angle become too flat, this allows the shaft to pump oil from the rear transmission.
Apparently the shocks should be 13" eye to eye.

I guess I forgot to mention where the oil was coming from, it appeared to be coming out the breather box. It wasn't over filled, I usually keep it between the two marks on the dipstick.

After completely drained add 3 quarts of oil. No more no less. Then start the bike for a minute or so and then shut off. After 15 minutes while the bike is on the center stand pull the dip stick clean it off and reinstall. Remove again and wherever the oil level is on the dipstick is the ideal oil level. Take a file and score the dip stick at this mark as it is the ideal oil level.
