Got a call yesterday from my dealer that the roller tappet kit I ordered a week ago is in. When I placed the order the importer told the dealer it would be six to eight weeks. Obviously they must have a few of these around state side. I asked the parts guy to order any additional bits, such as valve seals and exhaust gaskets. He said he would ask the techs what I would need as they have just done two of them recently. I asked if they were failures and he said no that they were done preemptively. People must love their 8v's as they are willing to spend a couple of thousand bucks to help ensure there longevity. I agree that it is a worthwhile expense if you want to keep the bike or sell it to a knowledgeable buyer. Part of me would like to install it immediately, but I think I will wait until winter when I have more free time and don't mind it being down for a couple days. I currently only have 5,000 miles on the griso and it is running fine and the gaps have been staying in spec so I will likely wait, at least until the map gurus figure out the fueling on the roller tappets.Would appreciate any advice one could offer on doing the job myself. I am mildly capable and eager to learn the inner workings of the 8v. When the time comes I will do my bests to document the process and share what I have learned. dave
