Scorpion EXO GT 3000- Enjoying my new lid...
« on: August 12, 2015, 02:42:23 PM »
I scoured the internet for reviews of this helmet before I bought it.  I'd say the revzilla review is spot on, for the most part.  Others below have complained of noise.  I have no such complaint.  It is more quiet than my Scorpion EXO 1100 full face helmet.  It also vents noticeably better and there is less turbulence.  That said, I wouldn't say it is super quiet.  It is just not particularly loud.  I wear earplugs for extended rides and none for shorter rides.  I experience no noise discomfort in either scenario.  The helmet definitely runs small.  I wear an XL in most brands, and an XXL fits just right in all the Scorpions I have tried.  The interior is very comfortable, but it is not quite as plush as the Shoei Neotec I almost bought.  Chinstrap is extremely comfortable (nicely padded).  The helmet is super light.  It is the lightest helmet I have ever owned.  Noticeably lighter than the Neotec.  It has a nice wide field of view, and the chin bar locks securely with one hand and doesn't crowd your chin/face (like a Schuberth).  The new cable drawn internal sunvisor is excellent and easily comes all the way down to the bridge of your nose.  The anti fog coating on the visor works great.  I have had great luck with the anti fog coating on Scorpion helmets.  It seems to last about a year, and then kind of disappears all at once.  I replace my visors once per season because I can't stand even trace scratches.  For a fiberglass helmet, this can't be beat.  It is an excellent value.  I wish they had graphics, though.

Jim Figgins (Ned's) had a couple at the Iowa rally. I thought, "Damn. And I just spent the big bux for this stupid Shoei." I'm not a fan of modulars, but I like it a lot.

Mine.

Back in the day when you were either a Shoei head or an Arai head, I was an Arai head, if that helps.
