New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I looked at the campground web site. Seems all the cabins are very fancy. Anything more rustic?
Cabins?
I need to go to DC area in a few weeks - what's link to rally please? Excuse to ride instead of drive.
This sounds interesting, never been to this location, and haven't ridden through PA this season yet. Cabin could persuade wife to join me possibly. We shall see.
Pending Bill's approval, I plan to lead a group ride via mostly secondary roads to Winchester Motorsports on Saturday morning. Lunch at the Woolen Mills Grill: http://woolenmillsgrill.com/ and then a more direct route back to the rally.
I approve! if that counts for anything. You picked some beautiful roads I'd never seen for last year's ride up to Everett.I'm more familiar with the roads down around Winchester and Berkeley Springs, so I'm looking forward to seeing if there's some I've never been on before. But even the worst of them are good ..... Lannis
Bill has given his okay, so that's what I'll be doing Saturday. Been on Winchester Grade Rd. ?
Been close ... we ride every year from Wardensville up 259 to Gore, then up to Gainsboro on the back roads to cross 522, then up Siler Rd (county 600) to Glengarry, WV to shoot clays at the Peacemaker Range, but that's a little south of Winchester Grade. But if the roads are anything like those, it'll be fun .... !!Lannis
Coming south on Back Creek Road (7) -- a great one! -- I took a right at Shanghai onto Hampshire Grade Road (7/13) that goes up, over Third Hill Mountain and through the Sleepy Creek WMA, where becomes Shanghai Road (13/5) and joins Winchester Grade Road (13 at Greenwood.A Stelvio or V7 would have been a better choice for a mount for this (poorly) paved cowpath. But otherwise, Lannis, you are right, all pretty darn fine. If, instead of turning off Siler (plus) Road to go to Glengary, you ride on to Apple Pie Ridge Road and wiggle a few more over to Winchester Motosports. BTW, had lunch with John Wells at the Woolen Mills Grill -- http://woolenmillsgrill.com -- the other day. Quite fine. Wish they served breakfast.Bill
Yeah, Hampshire Grade/Shanghai Rd. is freakin' rough, even on a dual-sport bike. I won't be taking the group on that. Thanks for the report on the Woolen Mills Grill. I've heard the same from a few other folks. So, will you be coming to the rally this year, Bill?
