eBay Private Listing and Private Bidders?
« on: August 18, 2015, 12:33:08 PM »

Why would it be an advantage for someone to sell a motorcycle on eBay using the Private Listing option? I don't feel comfortable about bidding in that type of auction. The bid history in that case looks like this--

'96 Sport 1100
'71 Ambassador
'81 V50 Monza
'83 850 Le Mans III
'85 Le Mans 1000
'04 V11 Le Mans Nero Corsa
'77 850 T3

There's a lot of "spite" bidding in collector's circles so having one's identity concealed keeps an individual from engaging in a "take that" game in the auction. It can be seen in live auctions as well, we will often note individuals with a stealth bidder in the gallery to separate their identity from competitors observations.

Often times - the spoiler has no interest in acquiring the item, rather, merely wants to sport queer your play. It's been my sincere pleasure to spike them back in the past and stick them with the item... This after reaching my preconceived limit but playing my enthusiasm out to the very end of my line. Kinda ends up with a poker - bluff/raise, sorta vibe.
