Battery recommendation

So the battery is dying in my 03 EV. My question, is it worth the extra dollars for the Odyssey PC680 or should I save about $40 and go with a more generic AGM battery? They all seem to have similar ratings for AH and CCA. Sizes are all close.  What would you do?

I made the plunge and bought Odyssey for two Guzzis 3 years ago. they're working great. The extra space gave me room for a tool bag. I bought them locally, batteries plus is a mile from my house. Although I've had no warranty issues, it's good to know they are nearby.

At the other end of the spectrum, I bought an 18 a-h generic AGM for my Mille a year and a half ago, and it continues to be an excellent performer.  It was $33.50 delivered, from eBay.

Yep, I used to get 2 or 3 years out of the old lawnmower battery too. <shrug>

I got the Odyssey 545 and holder from Harpers for the T5.  It is just about half the width of my old lawn tractor battery.  So, now I have a small parts box that I stuck in the extra space.

How long to you plan on keeping the bike? My last two Odysseys lasted 10 and 12 years, and I just changed them just because..   maybe a case of overkill.

Yep, I used to get 2 or 3 years out of the old lawnmower battery too. <shrug>

A generic AGM in my other motorcycle went five years or so until I killed it by accidentally discharging it to zero a few times.

Another vote for the Odyssey.  Had one for ten years in my BMW and when I sold it last week the battery still held a charge and required no more than 30 seconds on the charger before going into maintenance mode.  Can't ask more than that.

I have a Odyssey on the V50 which was given me after it had been discharged twice on a BMW with a faulty Reg/Rec, it behaves faultlessly on the V50.

I have a Generic AGM on My VFR800 (interceptor) which just hasn't got the OOMPH it should.

Well after much contemplation I decided to go with a generic AGM battery with slightly higher ratings than the original Spark 600 AGM. Primary reason for this was cost (I am typical Guzzi fan-read cheap).  Battery cost $35 (including shipping) on EBay. I guess I'll find out if it lasts or not. Original went 12 years so if I can even get half that life span I will be happy.

What kind of batteries do you use in your airplanes?    Looks like you'd have to be pretty careful about those even if the ignition is a magneto, you've got gyros and such that need good voltage .... ?

I don't know but I would suspect that anything voltage critical on an airplane will have it's own internal regulator.. 
If I remember right from way back in the day designing helicopter electronics we would expect the supply voltage to be anything from 38Vdc to 55Vdc..

I don't have an airplane so no idea. But I would tend to be less of a cheapskate if I did.

More critical for aviation would be temperature tolerance and attitude tolerance (like sideways, upside down) and vibration tolerance, and atmos pressure tolerance..
