CEV brake switch for Stornello
« on: August 23, 2015, 08:59:02 AM »
I have a CEV 9275 switch.  It is the kind where you press it for "off", and release it for "on", so it needs to be pressed when the lever is not in use.  Unfortunately I didn't test this and built the switch platform so it is "off" when all the way out and "on" when depressed.  Is there a way to reverse this switch or am I going to have to source a 9273?

Dan,

On a Gilera 106 forum we found that a standard starter switch from Napa or other auto parts store, fits and works fine.  It's "on" when pressed and "off" when released.

I can dig the maker and model no. for you later.

Thanks!

I was just about ready to break out the welder and make a fitting for the other one.  You're saving me from a mess.  If you have the part number or source that would be KILLER!

The Napa part no. is 786105
But I went into an Autozone and just looked for a starter switch, and got what I needed.  They all appear to be built to similar specs.
But...they seem to be missing the extra lock nut for the assembly.  It doesn't appear to be an issue, except that the thread size is uncommon and unique so you can't just get a generic nut.

Let me know how it works out.
