TEXA diagnostic solutions
« on: August 31, 2015, 08:09:46 AM »
Has anyone used any of the diagnostic equipment from this Italian company?

www.texa.com/solutions/bike

I am looking into getting a single solution for not only Guzzi but also for other makes and this looks interesting.

Any opinions welcome.

Thanks

If they want to sell me something they need to volunteer the price.  I'm not going to play 20 questions or scratch-n-sniff for basic information.  If don't include pricing in an easy to find manner then they've already lost me.

Obviously, they are an OEM, not a direct to consumer website.

"TEXA distributes its products through its own national subsidiaries"

Those subsidiaries sell through retailers. This is pretty standard practice not to publish pricing.

Companies selling as OEMs, especially though subsidiaries and such rarely post prices or, if they do, the prices mean very little. Go to the Ford website and you might get an MSRP which is worthless. The prices stated by MG aren't even close to what you pay for their bikes. Not by thousands.

No Texa is no oem, they sell direct through an dealer chanel to car shops.

Next to that they have deals like in the past with piaggio, then they sell same things, with software tailored to a few makes. If you buy a generic thing from them it will do all sorts of diagnostics, the ones that piaggio sold to the dealers could update maps, and dowload maps from the piaggio website

They are wisely protecting their distribution partners who might set their own prices or bundle products and services according to local markets.

A common way to do business. Not everyone wants to deal with onsies and twosies of something. Sometimes you just need to follow the chain to get the stuff. Something everyone riding a MG finds out sooner or later.

Couple of clicks gets you their stuff. No real difference than visiting the MG-USA website and trying to order something. They want you to go to their dealers.
