How many people , in round numbers , have managed to consume the 72 OZ steak at Big Texan in the one hour allotted ? For bonus points , who holds the record time for eating the steak , and how long did it take , in round numbers

Dusty; vegans do not eat any ounce steaks.  Maybe a grilled tofu plank, but not beef.

Been there several times in Armadillo, TEXAS land.  Great place.

I think some lady trucker has the record?  Huge hunk of dead cow.

Nice area:  hidden canyon few know about.  My wife's parents pastored a church in Claude, TX for a while, enjoyed the panhandle.

I don't know the answer, but just to look at the thing and think about eating it makes me loose my appetite.

Don't forget.  It is not just the steak.  Potatos, veggies, and bread too!!!!

I had  22oz steak one time.  That was too much for me.

Yep, over FOUR pounds of steak.

We always stop there on Eagle Rider Route 66 tours.  Always some client that wants to give it a try.  Usually some robust German.  They are usually humiliated when they see the slab delivered.

I've been there twice and both times ordered a 12oz steak for lunch. I think I'd have a heart attack just looking at a 72oz steak sitting on a plate in front of me.
I'd much rather ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Awright, I'll bite  and take a guess:
the round number is 10, ten.
The record time is held by a small woman, can't remember the name, saw the video, extremely impressive performance!

all that and shrimp cocktail.  maybe dessert too.

Although the place is a tourist trap, the food there is surprisingly good.  For years I avoided the place but finally stopped and now I try to eat there when I travel through.

I take it you are not meaning a bar stool either.
