Ya know, I used to be a chopper jockey in my youth. Peanut tanked, ape-hangered, sissy-barred choppers from the 60's and 70's.

Even with a rigid frame, they 'could' be comfortable to ride.

But the new style chopper, with the seat so low, and the rider's knees in his chest, I just don't see how they can be comfortable to ride for any period of time...

This guy had a vision for his bike parts. He put them together in some kind of form, which he undoubtedly likes, but until it's finished (is it finished?) can't comment on the product. But the idea of the style, low seat, knees in chest, doesn't work for me.

I always did and still do like the 'Captain America' style choppers. I guess I'm just old fashioned and over the hill!

Looks like it's been assimilated into the Borg collective.   What are all those cobby-looking extra boxes doing hanging off of it?

Seems like some possibly unfair photos.

I can't tell if it's really as ridiculous as it looks or if it's just perspective and lens throwing the nasty-net over this one.

Laying of "beauty" by stamping a disclaimer into the seat is a weak touch.

I'm sure it's supposed to be in the post apocalypse/steampunk category.  Motorcycles like that are admired by many non-motorcycle people.  When I parked my H2 at the Bull City Rumble this year, a guy on his open-pipe hardtail Virago that was set up a lot like this Guzzi parked next to me.  A small crowd gathered, admiring the Virago, telling the owner how cool it was.

Well, sometimes you have to, don't you?

At the Raleigh Eurobike thing in April, there's always a contingent of weird modified bikes.   Many of them have about $500 total in them including the bike and modifications, owned by early 20-somethings who are "doing what they can" to have a slightly cool bike.    Stripped down Honda S65 cafe racers, steam-punked CX500 Hondas, blacked out KZ400 "scramblers", you name it.

I always make a point to talk to the owners and let them know that someone is looking and interested in their bikes.   I don't gush over them or lie about it, but just showing interest and asking questions is often enough to encourage them, and possibly set them on the path to enlightenment (MY enlightenment), who knows ... ?

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

I sent that link to a friend who's into motorcycles and got this response:  "dang, left my checkbook in my other dimension, the same one the bike is in....."

Ive seen some steam punk style bikes where the look actually "flows" . There is something about this bike where that aspect is missing. An example would be confederate motorcycles, although far from steam punk, they are strange, but everything "flows", melds together where its pleasing to the eye. The boxes on this bike ruin the look, IMHO, as well as the chunky gas tank shape. I kinda like the way the driveshaft, and "swingarm" look, thats about it.

:1: There are custom builders that have a sense of style and flow . The disconnect between the upside down forks ,twin disc brakes and the rigid rear end leave me scratching my head . Lowryter and I saw a drag style KZ 1000 , not a bad looking bike, but it was running struts like a true drag bike , and had never seen the strip . To some extent , a motorcycle should be designed for its intended purpose , maybe as someone said , this one isn't built to ride . Hell , maybe we are all just getting old
