I think he's trying for the Alaska hook -- that transcontinental feeling.

Other good Alaska names for bikes might be:

Tok
Chickaloon
Badger
Kenai
Metlakatla
Kotzebue
Kodiak
Tuluksak
Eek
Tyonek
Northway

There are of course a few more.

Brilliant...I'm sure a lot of folks will want to ride it and dump it afterwards!

The "Palin" would be named for it's ability to go almost halfway to any place and mindlessly follow the same route regardless of the destination.  It would be versatile enough to throw anything under a bus while remaining robust enough to navigate using a belief system stronger than any available maps (or facts), while concentrating on random shiny objects, empty praise, and personal ambition.  When that all gets old, repower it with a Bristol and recycle everything.  . . .

Hey -- a Palin could probably find its way from Hyder to Ketchikan (the Gateway to Alaska) without getting wet -- just make a bridge out of that branchless family tree.  From there a "bridge to nowhere" could connect a hyder rider to Metlakatla, Cub Cove, Kake, or any of several other Alaska towns that you can't get to from here.

It should probable have a large saddle and twin headlights, but not too bright.

It could even evoke vestiges of the old Bond movies with a new twist:  Ride a Palin:  To Russia with Love (from my back porch!)

Or it could be a palindrome...It rides the same from front to back and back to front...nope...that wouldn't work at all!  :)

It works as a palin-drone if it's identically unsteerable from either end.

Also needs to be stone cold.

well it looks like a new small block 850 is comming, with big wheels.

Where did I read that 750cc is about as big as the smallblock can be taken out to?

The current block can go 820cc.  GuzziPower and Guzzitech both have variations on the theme.  Some of our Euro friends, too.

For all we know, Guzzi could be releasing this "New 850 Small Block" with a new block to accomodate more displacement.  Or, maybe the current block can go close enough for Guzzi to round up to 850...

It will likely be November in Milan before we see any detailed pics, or have good info.

Ed Milich has an 850 kit for the small block.  There is a place, Gawa Guzzi in Germany that does a 834 kit...either way, if you can get 50 ft lbs of torque, and say upwards of 60 hp, on a bike that weighs just under 400 lbs, now your talking some performance to match the looks!  Lol

I don't get all the talk of this possibly being a big block.

I thought we've already been told by multiple sources that basically a larger hp smallblock is being tested around Italy?

And as Pete has often said, the transmission upgrade fits the bill as something they might do a year or two before such a debut.

Yeah.  I was going to note that, too, but didn't want to sound like I was picking on him!

I like "Denali" better.  GM probably won't even notice if Guzzi uses it...

It's not really wrong. The pavement ends very abruptly as you cross from Stewart, BC, to Hyder, AK.
