1993 california forks creaking

my forks are creaking when i compress them I have put 70 ml of new oil in them as the hand book recommends but this has made little difference they are the rebound type with adjusting knobs on the top is this the right amount of oil what can the creaking be thanks Jeff

May be the springs rubbing the dampers in there. I had that on one and slipped a piece of tubing over the damper rod to eliminate it.
