Born again!
« on: October 03, 2015, 02:53:50 AM »
Well, after blowing up my Griso motor I managed to score a low mileage wreck that luckily turned out to have a roller top end. I spent a day or two swapping the entire motive unit and giving it a decent tune, (Poor thing was stuffed under the back of a ute and although very low mileage it had never been tuned properly.) and took it out for a short flog.

All the goodness is back! The 'Running into a brick wall' with the fuelling was gone so there is definitely something wrong with my old engine. Anyway, this morning I uploaded the new roller tappet map and it's absolutely golden! I'm down the beach tonight but I'll take it out for a longer gallop on Monday. It's amazing how you don't notice as things slowly deteriorate but as soon as you get a good thing happening it's immediately noticeable the difference!

Well done, Pete. That worked out really well. Happy days. (I called in last week and saw a little of the dismantling - pristine; no road dust on the frame at all and the front brakes pads looked unused - well, I suppose that would be the case if the PO could only use a ute to stop).

Anything to add Martin? My engine's demise has been well documented, I still haven't analysed the results and I communicated with Greg privately.

Missed documentation
Hope analysis proves correct this time, shame to break good stuff.
