celebration Guzzi ride Tuesday---
« on: October 05, 2015, 07:19:04 PM »
All,

Celebration Guzzi ride down the freeway to Fung's our favorite Chinese restaurant.  I am meeting my riding buddy Ed.

Cause of elation:  retirement done.  Exit was today, and it went smooth.  Last switches thrown, I am free.

We will also visit the "toy store" next door and look at bikes.  I need some chain lube for the Triumph:  any recommendations please?  A buddy told me he likes Bel-Ray.  Haven't sprayed a chain in a while.

I am one happy, grateful dude.

Off to Colorado Wednesday.  I have to decide on my first retirement project.  Like it will be:  new rear tire V7R, gear up the rear bags and camping gear and do my first motorcycle camp trial.  After a shake down, I want to do a multi-day camp into the Hill Country of TEXAS.  Fall is prime season.

Congratulations.

Post some pics of the San Juans when you get to Durango. It's been 20 years since I used to hang out there. A beautiful part of the world.

Has been 10 months for me and I would never go back.   Those first few days are a good feeling but it will take weeks or months to start feeling like anything besides a long vacation!

I soak chains in chain-saw bar oil when they're off the bike, and spray them with Bel-Ray when they're on ......

Congratulations -- it's a great time of year to be liberated. I'm headed up to Vermont tomorrow to peep some leaves and whatever else is up there.

All,

Much thanks!  The concept is not sunk in, that is for sure.  Packed for Colorado, flying to ABQ then drive 550 up to home.

One of these days I will do a long bike ride?  Or trailer a bike up?  Last time I rode a motorcycle in Colorado was 1975.

And the girl you were there to see?  Wonder how she's doing these days?

You'll get used to retirement in good time.  I'm predicting in less than a week.

Savor it all.
