Is it possible to get more legroom on a 98 EV?

I need to get more legroom on my EV. It's always been great, but in the last few years, my knees start aching on long rides. It's worse when riding 2 up since I have to sit a little further forward.

I have a set of Harpers highway pegs, but they aren't really comfortable for me.

What I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way to move the floorboards and controls forward a couple of inches. I don't need a lot more room. If I put my heels on the front of the floorboards, that's just about perfect. I just don't like that I have to move a further distance to get to the brakes and shifter.

If there isn't an easy fix to this, I may have to look at another bike, probably a Japanese cruiser. I'd consider a Cal 14, but it's way out of my price range, even used.

I thought about that, but I already have a Ned's seat on it, and with my 29" inseam, I can't flat foot it now. Any higher and I'd had real issues, LOL. Sucks being short!

Old, worn out knees. Just riding with my feet flat on the floor board isn't bad, but when I have to lift my feet to shift/brake, it places more strain on my knees because they're higher up with more bend in them. After a couple hundred miles, it starts taking it's toll.

A bike that has the floor boards farther forward, like the C14, won't strain my knees as much. Also, with the shifter closer to the boards, and the brake not requiring me to lift my foot much at all, that will also reduce the strain...or at least I think it will.

Maybe I'm over thinking this and just need to go ahead and look for another bike...

 Have you considered a change to foot pegs ? No need to lift your feet . Also , having shot knees myself , maybe some yoga ?

I had the same problem on my 1100i. A Corbin seat moved my ass back almost 2 inches, that lessened the angle of my knees. My wife still had plenty of room on he back.

Moto Guzzi Classics made a set of forward controls for the Cal series bikes with pegs. I bought a set, but they didn't fit me well. I still have them, but they're tucked away in a box somewhere. I don't know if they'll work with floorboards (You could call Mark and find out). If you're really interested, I'll see if I can find them.

Hadn't thought about foot pegs. I really like the floor boards, but that may be a possibilty.

Let me think about this one. I'll try to see if they'll fit the floor boards, but my guess is they won't. If I decide to convert to foot pegs, I may be interested. Thanks.

Been seriously thinking of this one, but they aren't very common here. I haven't found many used ones for sale yet.

on my calvin I removed  the floating floorboard rubber mats. Also rebent shifter and brake lever.

I can't find them on Harpers site but I think they had some forward control package for Jackals etc, you have to go to footpegs but these kits would locate the pegs 2 or 3 inches forward (or rearward) from stock.
