DB Bag Mounts
« on: October 20, 2015, 09:04:34 AM »
Hi, folks.

Wondering if anyone has some good pictures of DB bag mounts that they could share?  The project Eldo I just picked up came with a set, and I'm trying to sort through the stuff in the bags to figure out what pieces (if any) are the brackets.

As an aside, I don't think I am going to use the DBs as I have this picture in my head of the bike with Wixoms.  I'll probably regret doing it, as the DBs also look good and have MUCH more capacity, but I'm thinking of selling the DBs to offset the cost of the Wixoms I just picked up.  Would appreciate input as to what a set of DBs are worth these days.  These ones are solid, but need some cosmetic work.  A previous owner also replaced one of the latches with a different type.  Works fine, but doesn't look the same.

Thanks for any info!

Cheers,
Shaun

After posting, I had the brilliant idea to check Greg Bender's excellent site, and found great pictures of the brackets.

However, any thoughts as to the value of the bags would be appreciated.  By the way, these are the round top version, with even more storage space.

Thanks,
Shaun

To sell DBs you gotta have a buyer.  I see them go on ebay for crazy money sometimes and sometimes a good condition pair get no bids.  I'd keep an eye on the auctions to get a feel for the market.

Thanks, all.  Looks like I have located *almost* all the brackets, and have a some additional stuff to go through.  Looking at Greg Bender's site, it looks like the hardware for these is still available.  I might just get the pieces and restore the bags.  We'll see!

I also appreciate the insight into pricing.

Cheers,
Shaun
