Beating on the Bassa
« on: November 08, 2015, 05:23:19 PM »
I know, you've heard it all before. The engine is more tikkety-clickety on the left than on the right.

It's only got fifty-several thousand miles on it, they're noisy by nature, just ride it until it blows up or doesn't.

It seems to me it's getting louder, but it's a gradual process, and I'm already focused on it, so who knows if it's the bike or my imagination ?

So today, in to work on a Sunday, light traffic, we're all flying 80 - 90. I need to make a move and in my enthusiasm I don't downshift, just stand on it in fourth.

It pinged so loud I was sure I broke something. BUT ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE.

I got off the throttle and it went back to it's usual self.

Is this any clue as to perhaps an indetectable lean condition on that side ? Am I just losing my mind ? Is thinking about this as a long term bike perhaps jinxing me ? And what about Naomi ?
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Geez , talk about an obscure reference , I still don't understand  Did Naomi make a "clicking" sound ? (Henry Cho reference)

If you ride backwards is the sound still on the left side?

Sounds like you need a TPS adj, a richer map or a fuel box. Gee, my 98EV, makes no noise and will pull all the way to the top in 5th if you have the balls. Same mileage on it.
My RH side has more clicky than the left.
