Okay, here's your chance to own a truly one-of-a-kind custom Moto Guzzi cafe racer special.
This bike was featured as a double page spread in the December 2006 issue of Cycle World magazine and also toured the US at that time as a featured custom bike in the International Motorcycle Show. Perhaps you remember seeing it if you attended the show. A copy of the magazine is included with the sale.
The bike was built by Rodney Aguiar in Southern California. Rodney has done a lot of work with Roland Sands and is a known custom bike, car and truck builder in LA. He has also done conceptual design work for major motorcycle manufactures, such as BMW.
Everyone who sees this bike comments on it. It is truly stunning. It started life as a 1987 Moto Guzzi SPII 1000, so in a couple of years it will be eligible for a collector license plate (no annual tabs).
The rear tail section is custom fabricated from aluminum and the fuel tank has been shortened and reshaped. Custom fabricated rear mono shock suspension replaces the traditional dual shock swing-arm set up found on Tonti frame Guzzis of this era. The chrome plated inverted front forks assembly came from a Suzuki GSX-R750. Orange County Powder Coating and Plating did a black crinkle finish to the motor and gearbox and a semi-gloss black finish to the frame. The seat is a gel base pad covered with deer skin. The beautiful paint work, done by Mike Maldonado, features Italian flag colors of Ferrari red and white with green pin striping. Chrome plated valve covers, rear drive hub and muffler really set off the total custom look.
The ultimate eye candy for your living room? Perhaps. The bike is very low and compact. It feels a little like riding a mini bike powered by a small block Chevy. The sound is classic V Twin rumble. You can own this for a fraction of what it would cost to build it. $6850.

really? probably works better with USD forks and mono shock. lighter wheel, better brakes..I like it a lot.

I think it's priced to sell, and sell quickly.  If it were in LA or Orange County the asking price would likely be over $10,000

So don't worry - you won't be on that seat long!   I HAD a bunch of minibikes - I know how they handle .... !

I like it! I think the pattern of the white portion of the paint job, could be improved upon, a cooler tricolore paint job , with a well designed graphic, would really make that bike. It looks like a quality build, and not a bad deal at that price. Parked outside a trendy LA Coffee shop with a for sale sign on it, that bike would sell like hot cakes!

This bike has been for safe forever... on CL and e bay.
Not saying i like it or not , it does not matter... but the owner/seller will have to find the "right" buyer .( not easy tho , give the fact it has been on the market for few years already. )

I saw it years ago at that cycle world show. The workmanship was really nice. Whomever it was built for has to be a tiny little fellow. I was amazed how small it was. Large guys need not apply.
