There is a lot of extra chrome on that bike. Is the brake rotor even chromed?

Yeah, would have been a nicer bike if original finishes had been used....just my opinion

That's an impressive machine but, if I was going to pay that sort of price, I would want an original-spec restoration.

No disrespect to the owner, but that is sorta like a renovated Harley Knucklehead complete with an S&S stroker kit inside! Or a '57 Chevy with a late-model 350 V8.  It isn't a restoration.  I wonder if it has a Delco Remy alternator.

It is VERY nice. But I am not a fan of over the top chrome.

I read more of the details. I see this is one of the last Eldos. I have one from the same batch, number 63087.

That is a ridiculous asking price.

I think the front rotor was lathe turned with a chattering cutting tool, and then the whole thing was chromed.  Now the chrome is coming off the friction surface.  At least it looks that way to me.

Makes one wonder about the rest of the restoration . Over restored , over chromed vehicles won't normally command premium prices , time will tell .

Very nice restoration, looks to me like a lot of the 'chrome' is polished aluminum. He has done a hell of a job, still trying to get $30K for a Loop is going to take a one in a million buyer.

I don't understand why ppl buy CG big bore kit ( iron sleeved cylinders ) and don't buy a properly made gilardoni kit.
same price .
I just don't get it.

Right.  My thing is I don't get show bikes in general.  A reasonably clean motorcycle in top mechanical shape is what does it for me.  I've seen guys buy 40 year old motorcycles in original condition that look good, and have the cool factor of being original, and immediately do a frame-up restoration.  To me the result is nowhere near as good as it was before, but to each his own!   :boozing:

Isn't 63062 the one you sold last year? The one I bought in Hudsonville, MI back about '06, sold to Bill H. in OH about a year later? It's still on the Loop List in my name.

Old Police Harley's are cheap, was looking at a 1994 Police bike for $5,000 with 22k  on her. Ended up buying a new Guzzi.  :violent1:
