Updated shift linkage for V50 and other small blocks
« on: November 25, 2015, 08:09:31 PM »
As some of you know, I have been putting together replacement shift linkages for Tonti bikes. The new linkage removes much of the slop and aids in smoother shifting. The rod ends are opposite thread for easy adjustment.

These work on most bikes from 850T up. (Also left side shift V7 Sports)
Recently, I received two requests for this upgrade for V50 and V65s. So, I came up with this

Coincidentally it also works on right side shift V7 Sports

I've sold several dozen of the Tonti frame upgrades, I'm just wondering if there is a need for these on the early small blocks.
The linkages sell for 41.50 including postage in the US. I have enough for about 5 linkages. If there is an interest I would produce more.
Thoughts
PS, I have one on an Eldorado, it works great and replaces that bent rod but, is a PITA to install!

As owner of two old smallblocks that sometimes shift well and other times not, count me in. The Monza's shifting entirely too well now but the V50much less so. The stock linkage that you replaced is pretty suspect looking. Count me in for two. PM, I'll be out of town for the next few days but should have sporadic net connections.

That's it? Only one person interested in this upgrade? There goes my hopes for being a "hundredaire"!

I'll happily take one of those from you please. I'm in the UK though, hope that's not a problem?

If you send me your email I can paypal you the amount plus postage if that suits you?

Many thanks

Brian

The Breva 750 comes out with that mod.

However, what did help on my one was a bush I turned up out of acetyl plastic to remove the lateral movement present on the foot change shaft.  Made the shift a lot more accurate.
