My Lemans, circa 1994

 I bought this  Guzzi in 1992. It was advertised as a Lemans 1 and titled as a 76.It   appeared to been repainted and a few things changed. It was in the local swap sheet for a long time so I decided to check it out. The price was $2000 It had around 32,000 miles and was well used but ran strong. I bought the Bub pipes , new tires and replaced the rear main seal and clutch myself the first year.The inspection sticker on the fork leg is 1994 and this is the photo for the local swap sheet, Walnick's and Hemmings...The bike took a long time to sell despite what I considered a fair price....I think the first guy who called after a few months bought the bike...

 Yes...looking back now the seat cover was sloppy and some small parts were missing or changed. Compared to the Ducati 750 GT I had just before , the Lemans engine was not as responsive at lower speeds, but had a better high rpm pull and smoother at high RPM's. The Ducati seemed to handle better most likely because it weighed less..
