I was very sad to learn that Breeze Cycles in Omaha has shut their doors. I did a search and did not find any discussion about it. I'm in Omaha for family Christmas. I always enjoyed a visit to their shop. Anybody know what happened?

I went in 2x this spring to buy a Guzzi, had them write down my # the first time, left card the second, no call back. So I purchased in Minneapolis. Not surprised i suppose.

Hey fatbob,
Very long time Guzzi guy and native of Nebraska from Lincoln. The sudden shut down was a big surprise to us all here. The local take on it is that they became over extended trying to support both Triumph and the full line of Piaggio. When I last spoke to the folks there they picked up Piaggio because they wanted the Vespa scooter line. They were already selling Kymico. It was a big blow to them when Triumph gave a dealership to the mega cycle dealers Dillon Bros. Those guys sell every thing under the sun including HD. Hard for a mom and pop set up to compete with that. Piaggio required them to put Guzzi, Aprillia, and MV Agusta on the floor in order to get Vespa as well. They made a good run at it but I think the bank finally called the loans in and it was over. Hard times take out the small guys first. Too bad they were good folks.

I talked to the owner when i was in town on business. Real nice guy. He was saying how Triumph shafted him by letting another dealer in town pick up the line and how triumph overcharges them for floor plan displays. He showed me a factory clothing display that he was charged 800 bucks for. With the Aprilia, Guzzi, Vespa, MV, and Triumph, it would be rough in a small market like Omaha with the limited riding season.
