This looks like a good idea.....

Uses a wireless camera on the front and some big screens on the back. While youre waiting to pass, maybe also could show you some commericals! Wonder what channel is on the next truck up ahead?

that's pretty neat. I wonder if I'd be able to not become distracted by the screen and NOT see the trucks brake lights.

seems like that'd be a cool military camouflage trick.

Really good idea for advertising their wares.. if those LCSs can survive that kind of service, they ought to last forever in the house.

Where I live, trucks often block traffic in areas where passing is prohibited. Perhaps they could play a movie to entertain the people behind them...

If it showed the road ahead, it would be really useful on some of the roads I ride where they are normal 2 lane with not so much room.

Often on LH sweepers (remember I'm in the UK) your view is blocked by the truck and although the road may be perfectly safe to execute a pass you cannot do so without moving into the opposite lane, which would be very hazardous.

That would solve the problem, unless they put on a 10 second delay of course

I think what would happen is it would be used as a mobile advertisement hoarding and instead of being a safety plus it would just be a giant distraction to the truck stop lights as already mentioned and a big safety minus

Talk about a distraction!! How could you NOT look at that thing? I can see both the + and - sides of this feature.

Would a truck driver really want to help you get around them or would he/she really want to see you get taken out?

You've never seen the tanker trucks with highly polished back ends that work like huge convex mirrors?

A pretty good idea but it's slathered in future liability issues with a whiff of; "OK to pass" floating around it.

Yes, I've been behind tankers with polished rear ends, but that can be ignored. No way could I totally ignore something like this in front of me if it was real.
