Tonti Triple Clamp info needed
« on: December 26, 2015, 09:10:57 AM »
I need to find out what triple clamps fit the "tall neck" tonti frames, such as late 80s Lemans 1000, takes 40mm fork tubes with the wider 195mm fork spacing to fit wire wheels.
I found a 1000S wire wheel front for my Lemans remodel project but I need the 195mm fork spacing to fit it.

Possibly a California of later year?

Thanks
Mark

Nope, I already checked with the seller. His set is the narrow 180mm for the mag wheels. The 1000S came with either mags or wires.
Yeah, I thought I had it whipped when I saw that.
Thanks Mark

Hmmmm....the 1000S parts book doesn't show a separate triple clamp part number for the mag wheels. Part #14493171.  I guess their was another part number for the mag wheels.

That is what I needed to know!  I figured there had to be some model that used them. Now I have a direction to look.
Thanks,
Mark

My Lemans 1000 has 180mm spacing with mag wheels and the 1000S wire wheel wont go in there. I'm fairly limited in options with those silly small 1000 brake rotors.
Oddly enough, the 1000S front wire wheel hub will take either the 5 or 6 bolt bearing carriers with the holes cast in for both patterns. I could swap to the earlier large diameter brakes/carriers but then I would need the folk legs to match.

Maybe this could also help? http://www.hmb-guzzi.de/shop/Chassis-and-Frame/Wheels-Rims/Wheel-Parts/Front-wheel-flange-set--wide-version--T3--T4--LM-2--SP--G5--Convert--Cali-2--etc-.html

This was looking good too until I saw my 5 bolt pattern brakes wont work with them. I could go with these and make the wheel fit my triples, but then the larger brakes wont fit my fork legs.

There is also a narrow version for 180mm if that helps ( wish I l knew about that when I had to cut down my wheel spacers)http://www.hmb-guzzi.de/shop/Chassis-and-Frame/Wheels-Rims/Wheel-Parts/Front-wheel-flange-set-narrow--750-S3-etc-.html
