Thinking about selling 1200 Sport
« on: February 01, 2016, 07:21:44 AM »
I can make a legitimate case for 3 bikes. The Norge for touring, the Monster for day rides in the canyons, and the SRX-6, well, because it's a cool old bike. That leaves the 1200 as very similar to the Norge and no real purpose other than looking way cool in red and white and of course, being a Guzzi.
The problem is, a realistic the selling price is not that high for what it is, a near mint big block with panniers, engine guards, and Mana bars. I could use some extra cash to furnish a weekender but it would suck in a way to see this beauty go for only $5500 or so, tires are good and complete recent service, about 8k miles.

I will never part with the Duc or the Norge. The Norge is so damn comfortable with a heated seat and has a tail trunk too. The Duc is perfectly sorted. The 1200 can never replace either of those.
I certainly don't need to sell the 1200, the insutance and registration kinda sucks though. I will probably enjoy it a couple more years, the resale won't change much in that time anyway.

Sell?

General Turgidson! When you instituted the motorcycle justification tests, you assured me there was no possibility of such a thing ever occurring!

Mr. President, we must not allow a motorcycle gap!

Otherwise, sounds like you've hashed it out rather effectively - I mean - other than contemplating selling what folks regard as one of the finest produced in recent memory just 'cause it gets overlapped a bit.

I figure, contemplate the extra costs of operation; licensing, insurance, maintenance (including tires) and storage space and make it a mathematical decision. I have a Sort 1100 that I haven't ridden in nigh on a decade and won't let it go against future potential regrets and just 'cause I like looking at it.

Aw hell, I got nuthin'!

Post some pictures of your Sport.   A price.  And your location.

That process will put things in focus for you !!
