Man Breaks Solo Cannonball Motorcycle Record - NGC
« on: February 05, 2016, 04:23:13 PM »
Carl Reese of Santa Clarita, California broke the solo cannonball motorcycle record from Los Angeles to New York City in 38 hours, 49 minutes.

73 mph average. Previous record set in 1983. He was on a pretty comfy bike,  2015 BMW K 1600 GT six-cylinder, but impressive nonetheless.

Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

At the speeds he was keeping he wouldn't have noticed it much if he had.

In fact anything much less than a mountain or desert probably didn't register as anything memorable anyway.

The article should have a headline that reads "Team of people breaks Solo Cannonball Motorcycle Record" Not impressive to me when you have a team of people tracking weather, traffic and police.

I'm sure the record set in 1983 was a lot harder to achieve.

 I can't even begin to sit on a motorbike for that long  Yeah , this guy probably had it easier than Baker , or the guy that did it in 1983 , but still , he rode almost constantly for the entire trip, something I doubt many of us could do .

My brother has one of those bikes.

I can attest it's very fast and smooth.
