Kind of an ugly game. Glad to see Peyton go out on top.

I wanted the panthers going in but after watching receivers run out of bounds and countless stupid penalties, hats off to the Broncos and Peyton.

Yes that was not the game I expected to see.    Totally unexpected result.

I was only rooting for Peyton.....

Outside of football, Peyton has done a lot of good in Indianapolis.  Basically responsible for a large children's wing in one of the hospitals.  Funded a chunk of it and probably got donations for the balance.  Even while playing in Denver, he was still involved back in Indy.  A class act, all the way.

What a yawn fest.  The only thing more boring than the game were the commercials.  Even the half time show was hardly worth waking up for!!!  Congrats to the Broncos.  Their strategy certainly worked.  Where were the Bud Clydes?

If your offense wins all the games don't you win the championship?

Yep, boring game, Carolina kept running up the middle, even when it was obvious it wasn't working.

I didn't think it was boring at all. People *like* to see offense, that's what fills the seats. Back in the Peyton, Marvin, Reggie, Edge days of the Colts, the offense was "almost" unbeatable in the regular season. Defense beat it in the playoffs, though. I like defense, and the Broncos were awesome. Credit to Wade for the game plan..

It was boring as hell. Both QBs had ratings in the 50's. Fumbles galore, a 61 yard punt return as Panthers just let him go, etc. I never saw a team deserve to lose more than Carolina, or a team deserve to win less than Denver. (Under 200 yds total offense) Worse yet, I'm sick of that crap they call entertainment at halftime. Beyonce has thighs that would make a T-Rex envious, she should keep that covered. I quit on the half time and went for food. The good games always seem to be in the playoffs leading up to the SB.

Defense was actually exciting. I've been a big Von Miller fan all season. Very glad to see Manning go out on top. He no longer has much of an arm, and the legs are gone, but the brain is working just fine. He's going to be a spectacular head coach somewhere.

Watching the Broncs all season, I'd never seen Cam Newton play except in snippets, until the conference playoff. Was mightily impressed. But last night he behaved badly under pressure, like Donald Trump after losing Iowa -- and when he failed to fall on that fumble in Q4 . . .  He has a lot of growing up to do and maybe will mature after he gets hurt and has to stage a comeback.

Broncos season was up and down, up and down, with lots of injuries and gritty comebacks. Character won the championship.

Well, there ya go. *most* people like to watch offense. Do you suppose the defense of both teams had something to do with the fumbles and low QB ratings? It was a hard fought defensive game by both teams.

Not so much a "defensive" display as a "mistakes/penalties" display. How many Personal Foul/Unsportsmanlike Conducts were there? Pretty sloppy all around, which was disappointing because both teams can be great.

Beyonce has thighs that would make a T-Rex envious.

Best summation of the situation.

Tina Turner she's not.  At this point I'd go for an Austin Powers half time show.

Glad Peyton went out winning, sort of.  Bronco Defense just flayed the Panthers.  I like Newton for his athletic ability but his maturity level is somewhere around that of a 10 year old.

Thank you indeed.

My 94 year old mom in Durango, COLORADO is ecstatic.  Her Broncos won a third Lombardi, and she loves Peyton and Kubiak.  I think I will order her a Super Bowl towel, and maybe myself a hat.  Normally I put my Broncos hat away during the playoffs until next year.  This year I will keep it on the rack.

Frankly I was surprised.  Wade Phillips defense performed as advertised.  The offense had just enough to squeak by a win, one more time. I hope Peyton is wise enough to retire on top, like Elway did.

Cam whats his name QB showed his inexperience, and promise.  The Panthers offensive line just couldn't stop Denver, and the penalties were awful for a Super Bowl.

So sayeth the Broncos fan, going back to the striped socks days.  Time for a nap for this cowboy, been humping stuff to the new house all day.

Let's go easy on the political references fellas , thanks .

What we witnessed last night was a throw back type of game . The Packers of the 1960's would be proud . We have become so accustomed to 350 yard passing games that an old fashioned game looks odd . Newton simply didn't understand what was happening , so far out of his frame of reference he just locked up . Heck , the Denver defense forced Tom Brady into looking like a rookie , and he has more playoff wins than any other QB . Will Newton recover , and learn some humility , probably . It does however take an incredible level of self confidence to play that position in the NFL , and he has that , as does Brady , the younger Peyton , and that crazy guy that QB'ed the Bears to their last championship makes Newton look like a shrinking violet by comparison. LOL .

Dusty, thanks for mentioning Tom Brady, and taking the long view.

Reminds me that what Denver and Von Miller did to Brady and Newton is what Seattle and Richard Sherman did to Manning two years ago.

I too saw this as half full. It wasn't boring by any stretch. You saw a proven and opportunistic offense (Vastly superior to the offensive line deficient Patriots) completely and utterly overwhelmed for the full 60 minutes. How watching Von Miller and crew do that snap after snap after snap...well I for one thought it was amazing. And I'm not partial to either team. Stellar football. Trenches...all that rot.

Happy for Manning, although no one will argue he simply managed not to give the game away. Newton however, did not choke. He had his hat handed to him.

It was all rigged. Seen it many times. Even Elway had his chance to win back in the day, but the big money has it all scripted, almost as bad as Pro Wrestling.

It wasn't Cam's turn to win, that is all. And when he saw his opportunity to let the ball just lay there, he did just that. He had opportunity to throw high, he did that, he saw opportunity to get sacked, he did that. Cam was well withing capable of winning. Denver is not that good, really.  The big money was on Peyton and they got their game. Peyton payed his dues, it was his turn.

Surely ya'll aren't that naive? Pro wrestling is real man.

The Bronco's won the game,  Doritos brought home the bacon.

The halftime show was strange, the sound system needed help. The replayed clips afterward all seem to have been edited to clear up and boost the audio so you could hear the singers.

Didn't know Beyonce had her dancers and backup singers dressed as a tribute to the Black Panthers. Oh well.

Von Miller was the MVP easily. Co-MVP should go to Wade Phillips. Superb scheme for a high flying offense like the Panthers.
The first Broncos drive for a TD was critical. Peyton's throws clearly got weaker as the game progressed. He did little after that first drive.
The Panthers receivers did not help Cam much at all. And the Panthers did not seem to adjust to the Bronco's D scheme throughout the game.
Glad to see Peyton go out a winner. He is a class act.

I believe that BeyoncĂ© is basically Angela Davis reincarnated.  As she used to say with her flamboyant style:  Anythang ain't worth a thang, if it ain't the thang you want!

I half expected Malcolm X to come out on the field too!

I do somehow wonder also if there was some betting going on - Cam played SO badly it was almost hard to believe he was the same player as during the regular season.  Granted he was severely pressured by a superb Bronco defense, and most likely it was a case of nerves being on the big stage against a veteran player.  Very odd to see him basically throwing little temper tantrums on the field...it was almost predictable that he had no patience for the press conference.

Now...if only the Packers could get their act together for next year...in the meantime, hats off to the Broncos!
