Deception pass bridge
« on: February 22, 2016, 11:44:29 AM »
Is beginning to sag with age.  I've rode across it many times but no more.
The island in the middle seems to be rising too.
Driving south is almost impossible, but driving north is quite a thrill.

Looks like Salvador Dali designed a bridge in that case.

If we can get a moto on it, it would be a good addition to the Motos & Bridges Pictorial thread!   :thumb: :thumb:

Nope , that is just the way parts of Hawaii look , the locals refer to those areas as the LSD regions

Besides, those of you who have ridden that bridge know that the picture is not of the Deception Pass bridge.
That is Canoe Pass bridge.  Deception Pass bridge is just to the left of the picture, out of the lens to the south a few yards.
The photo must have been taken on a hot summer day, temp above 75 degrees F. for the bridge to expand that much.
Back in 79 I wheelied that whole span from Whidby Island to Fidalgo Island.

Luxury !    ^^^

What we wouldn't give for a good old blinding blizzard, here in San Diego, if only to fill the lakes again.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Wow. Deception Pass Bridge. That brought back a flood of memories. Back in 74 a buddy and I took half a case of Ranier (and other misc items) and climbed from the island out under the bridge to the peak of the span and sat there and drank all the beer then slowly climbed back. Took a long time to get back but it was worth it.
