New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I wonder if its even worth $1500. in its current state? Help me out guys, I need to get back to "Pete" with a decision this evening....Rick.
You are right "on the money" there ,Rocker. My plan for the bike would be to restore it and ride it. I thought that if it was too far gone for that I could always stash it in a corner of the shop, and cafe it out some day sorta like one of the "Moto Studio" bikes. As plan "B", if that didnt work out I figgure I could always part it out, and at least re coup my investment, plan "C".I would imagine parting out a bike, and selling it that way would be a huge PITA, and I am not sure what parts would sell , and which ones I would get stuck with....I think I would much rather restore/ride the bike.decisions, decisions,Rick
My question pertaining to these 1100 sports is.....is it usual to see different colored faces on the tach and speedo on the same bike? reason why I ask I know of a 1997 for sale and this is the case.
Thanks. Awhile back I was in the market to buy a (relatively) low mileage Guzzi (mostly looking at 2000-2004 sports)and I ran across a few that were suspiciously low milage bikes and a couple had this oddity. My assumption was that the speedo's had broken and were replaced with new units thus the low odo readings.
It didn't look like it'd ever been crashed, maybe tipped over in the garage. The original exhaust is in great shape( other than the tape), no dents or scratches. I don't know why he cut the fairing. It's not broken, it's a smooth straight edge cut.The bike has had some weird shadetree modifications and not much love I it's 54,000 miles. When the starter button was pushed it spun over really nicely with no odd noises. I'd venture to guess it's problems are electrical. I think it can be saved. I made an offer but it was turned down.
I emailed him, but he's not interested in shipping. Strange that the first pics don't show the frame slider and the cut fairing. There's not much reason to do that unless you're going to flog the bike at the track. I'd buy it for parts, though.
My biggest concern is how the fairing was cut up on the right side. Is there anyone near Vegas or Wisconsin that has a sport 1100 fairing that I may be able to pull a partial mold of from to help in the repair of this one ???? A damaged fairing for pieces would work also. Thx, Dave.
Air-Tech still lists the fairing but at $414... You may wanna roll yer own anyhow.
