V7II Gas Tank Emblem Removal?

When I bought my V7II I settled for grey (my second to last color preference) because I was too impatient to wait weeks/months for a different color. Now I am considering using Plasti Dip white spray paint and "glossifier" on the gas tank. Does anyone know how I could remove the Moto Guzzi emblems from the tank before spraying, or should I spray over them then razor-knife around them and peel?  Same question for the hazard warning label decal on the tank?  Or should I just remove the tank and bring it to an auto repair place and have it spray painted?

they are attached with two sided tape. Warm them with a heat gun and slide a razor blade or a thin knife under.

I'm kinda wondering why you still have the hazard label on your tank.  All those labels are the first thing to come off when I get a new bike.

Well, perhaps the reason why he still has them on and you don't is that he's not you.

I'd run the tank down to a real painter. only thing that  needs painting on it. get the color you want.

Several reasons for leaving on the warning labels: too much trouble to take them off (my past experience on other devices is that they will leave a messy residue that will take hours of rubbing and gallons of toxic solvents to remove); I'm afraid I will forget what they say like what the tire pressure should be, how much ethanol is too much (I know, some will say any), or I'll let something like an exceedeeling long key chain or gold necklace dangle into the steering column ; someday when my pristine motorcycle is being judged at Pebble Beach having the original safety stickers will be worth lots of points.

Probably a real paint job is the best option, but I might play with the Plasti Dip just because I hate to be without my bike for a few days.

Dental floss what a great idea, I've used cheese wire but would never have thought of dental floss. Steve.

If you don't have the other stuff, two pencils and a piece of stranded wire. Use one or two strands and wrap each end around a pencil. Now you can pull the wire back and forth.

Spray some WD40 before you start and the pulled wire will go through the tape like butter. Take your time and don't pull down toward the tank but slightly upwards toward the emblem.

A few sprays of the WD40 as you go along. This will get through the toughest 3M VHB tapes made.

I recently had to remove some glue from an object and WD40 wouldn't cut it. I got out my bottle of bbq lighter fluid and tried that .

Lots of great ideas for removal that I wouldn't have thought of. I may remove them just for fun. Nobody recognizes the brand around here and when I tell them it's a Moto Guzzi they never heard of it anyway. I saw a Tesla the other day. Not an identifying sticker or emblem on it, just the somewhat stylized "T" on the grill. It was beautiful on its own, wouldn't have mattered if it had been made by Mercedes or Ford, it didn't need no stinking identifiers. When it drove off, total silence. Quieter than even a golf cart. Like a vehicle in a Star Wars movie, the sound of the future of transportation.

I've used dentil floss and Skin so Soft for this type of stuff... that last is an Avon product for skin, but removes sticker glue as well. It would be the gentlest on your tank finish, and will make your hands soft and smell nice; it also keep mosquitos away which is another plus with the Zika virus out there.

Anyway, a bunch of great suggestions. I thought I'd throw one more option out there. My sister used to sell Avon a long time ago in case anyone is wondering and she educated me that product
