Revisiting V7C (II) Clutch Adjustment
« on: March 15, 2016, 02:24:56 AM »
Okay, so I know how to adjust the clutch, but I'm having a problem with what
tool to use. I have tried with a 4" crescent, with an inch cut off the handle, I have tried
wrenches, needle-nosed pliers, a hemostat, but I can't find way to turn that ridiculous
adjustment screw with the flats on it. What did you guys do with that 'flap' in front of
the rear of the transmission (aka gearbox)?

Thanks for any help,

Jim

Tool kits used to come with a flat bladed mini spanner with nothing more than a slot cut in the end. It was used for adjusting valve and adjusting the set screw at the end of the clutch pushrod shaft.

the tool between the big double box end and the allen wrench:

What Mike said, the little spanner, for adj valves.  Try to adj clutch w/that on a hot bike, you get burnt.  I made the same thing but longer and on one end the slot is on the side, fully usable for every angle of tab.
