Shudda had a V8 .....
« on: March 28, 2016, 02:44:11 PM »
The small-block Guzzi models got me to thinking about the old breakfast juice commercial.

Bridge/crowns on lower left molars failed last fall.  Required two extractions and in process of two implants/crowns as replacements.  Oops …. Xray shows upper left molar needed work and new crown.  OK I can limp along on the right side for a while.  Not to be.  Older upper bridge/crowns failed, requiring new 4 tooth affair.    Crap .... root canal required.  By that time, I'm in so deep .... lets do the upper fronts in crowns, too …. They’re looking not so good after 73 years of wear.

Outcome is ……. I cudda’ had a V9!  Or a couple NOS V7s.

Oh, well, man’s gotta chew.

Steak puree is called soup.  Tofu is called unrefined poop.

I grew up with fluoride (controversy alert), so I have all my original teeth at age 74, and lifetime cavities numbering in the single digits.  Fluoride saved me enough to buy a couple bikes.

Man, I hate dental problems...especial ly when one compares the cost to nice Guzzis that cash can buy.I have suffered with bad teeth most of my 58 years. We may be at the top of the food chain, but sharks, and possibly other animals, have it all over us humans when it comes to teeth....if only we could grow new ones, like sharks....That would be awesome, say even a new set every 3-5 years!
The way I see it, if we live long enough we eventually lose all our teeth, I just wish there were alternatives that dont cost so much money, and pain!
Rick.

Yeah well, I had the Fluoride water philosophy also and in the '60's the Dentist sold my mom on "preventative treatment".  The Dentist fill all my molars (no cavities) in '64 along with filling his pockets.  They don't do that anymore.

Also I haven't had Tonsils since about the same time which they don't remove anymore either.

I seem to have been the subject of more than a couple of medical experiments in my life.

But still I Live! and Ride Guzzi!  Unfortunately I have lust for another Redhead.

Did I?  Sure!  Not 250 miles, but good miles.  I waited until it warmed up (11am) and headed to Tom's in Mentor.  From there, we headed to Burton on some really nice roads, stopped off to visit Tom's son in Garrettsville, ended up having late lunch in Chagrin Falls (that place was crowded!)  For me, slightly over 150 miles on the R100GS.  Have to admit, I drool over how nice Tom has his 2008 Bonneville T100 set up (or shop Cycle Trader for a low mileage 2008 .... last of the Keihin-carbed bikes.)  If there's some really good prices on these bikes after the new Bonnevilles hit the market this spring, I just might have to do another one myself.  1200 Sport needs tires, think I'll order a set of PR4s tomorrow.  Hope you got out and enjoyed NE Ohio at its best, too!

I chipped a corner off a molar once. Ended up needing a root canal and crown. After it was all done I realized I could have flown to Brazil (wife is Brazilian) and had it all done for less then it cost here. Since then I have been a fan of medical tourism. Luckily it has only been for dental work.

I'm in the same boat... 1 lower implant and 5 upper implants (2 left, 3 right)... it's been 3 months and I'm just about to get the teeth back... hooray.

Breva 750, I've got several weeks to go before crowns can go on the implant posts.  Good news is, after 2+ weeks, no issues with the posts themselves, and one week exam showed no signs of rejection.  Yep, in only another 10 or so weeks (and another few $$grand) I'll have the option of chewing my steak on either the right or left side.
