A/F sensor optimum placement?
« on: April 04, 2016, 04:46:40 PM »
so, I've got all my innovate air fuel sideband sensor stuff in a box, was using it fairly extensively back when I was trying to tune the Calvin…

my question is, if I was inclined to whack the widebands on my old lemans to see just how far off my carbs are currently set up and remedy, what is the best place to install the sensor? (I'd be welding in a sensor plug hole so I have free reign here)

second question, is it genuinely better/worth the hassle to have two sensors? one for each cylinder?

third question, are wideband sensors any good at all on guzzis? especially big valve old bangers, quite a lot of flowing and pulsing in that exhaust I'd imagine..

thanks as ever

I installed a narrow band sensor in the crossover pipe on a California. Learned a lot. Mainly, you can't get a DelOrto mixture right, just close enough. :cheesy:   Fuel Injection is nice.

About 6 inches from the crossover (if you have one), otherwise, towards the end of the header.

Nah. Just do one at a time.

Sure are. Despite all that pulsing and flowing.
