The valve covers look like no Gold Wing I've ever seen, and the frame looks like an Egli with a down tube. I'm stumped.

There is the DOHC 16V version too.

1600cc, 225hp at 9100 rpm, with a little bit of tuning.

2000cc, 380hp, if they are not enough.

Too many moving parts. Mechanics nightmare. Like a Guzzi V8, nice to admire but I wouldn't want to own one.

Back to the original post the Alfa engine looks to be a 1.5 or 1350 8v probably a 1.5. Quite a long production run and a good selection of cars with those engines even put in a nissan. But the frame what is that? I not a Goldwing or CX its like a California but has a wrapping seat frame?

Looks to be an Alfa motor shoehorned into a BMW frame with a BMW tank.

Actually I think that is an early Seeley frame with a Laverda gas tank .

The frame is throwing me , all one piece so not beemer , and not quite right for a Seeley , although it may be a modified Seeley , or heck , maybe a one-off . Relatively certain that is a Laverda fuel tank , the forks are Ceriani road race models , I think .

Looks very much like it has a BMW gearbox and rear drive. frame could certainly be a one-off or must have been modified quite a bit to make everything fit together.

Cool bike and cool project.

The Boxer engine was also used by Alfa Romeo in the Alfasud Sprint and in the 33 where the 1,7 16v version is from. I can't quite remember if there was smaller versions than 1300cc but they came in 1300cc, 1400cc, 1500cc and 1700cc. only the 1,7 existed in a 16valve version the others was only 8 valve. early 1700cc was also with 8 valves.
