1200 Sport 8V ABS ecu map
« on: May 06, 2016, 07:01:21 PM »
Hello all,

This has probably been asked before, but here goes....

I've got a 2013 1200 Sport 8v ABS VIN ZGULPR016DM200009. It has a stock exhaust and is unmodified with 13000km on the clock. It has a tendancy to 'hunt' a bit between 3000 and 4000rpm and is a little sluggish below 4500rpm.

Does anyone have any suggestions for replacement ECU maps for the stock engine/exhaust? I will be using GuzziDiag and have just purchased the Lonelec OBD interface cables.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Has your bike been rollerised? If not it needs to be.

If your bike is still under warranty the answer will be minimal. The problem will be finding a shop that will be willing and able to pull a cambox for a look. You could ride down and see me. I have a 'D' kit on the shelf. And can remap it to suit.

If you want to do it give me a call. Adverb's bro is my mate Peter Hill in Townsville, he trailered his Sport down here as I was worried that the damage might of been terminal before he got here. In the event it was just beginning to be visible, (At circa 8,000km from memory.) but I've had other Sports that were completely trashed by 10,000 hence my reticence in saying 'Ride down'. Claim submitted and approved, I'd cobbled together a kit for his bike out of bits I had lying around to get him back on the road quicks art and his kit arrived a few weeks later, hence the fact I have a 'D' kit on the shelf.

How many km on your thing now?

Pete

Ugggh. It'll be well on its way if it's a typical Sport. I really wouldn't ride it.

I strongly recommend you listen to Pete Roper's advice. The symptoms you describe would suggest you have a problem with the valve gear.
