El Dorado frame and black parts paint color selection
« on: May 08, 2016, 10:27:04 AM »
I am preparing to paint the frame and all of the black parts on my El Dorado. Not going to do the fenders side covers or tank. I would like the closest look to stock.
Any recommendations?  Are the black "cycle" parts like the headlight housing, fork brackets, etc the same color as the frame?
It seems as though it isn't a very glossy black compared to other bikes; flatter than a britbike.

Would like pictures and paint codes of what others have been happy with if possible.

The sheet metal parts are black high gloss basecoat/clearcoat. Nothing special.  The oe finish did not have a clearcoat at that time.  I use a gloss black for the frame also, I use something a bit more durable like an industrial equivalent to imron.  The tonti frame bikes use a satin black finish.
