I missed this post first time around. I found the many supporting messages of commiseration from the Wildguzzi folks to be a great help.  I hope it helps you too.

Hannah looks as though she was a wonderful girl. You did the right thing to ease her suffering.

Sorry to hear about Hannah,
It took a long time to not expect to see our yellow labs head at the front window when we got home.  Those greetings from Billy are missed. It did not seem to matter if I was gone 10 minutes or 10 hours it was all the same to him.

Our Hannah was the same way.

It is weird coming home without that greeting.   This is the first time in 21 years that we've been without a dog. 

I suspect that we'll get another within a few months.
