Anyone Want to Part with V7 Stone Stock Exhaust?
« on: May 21, 2016, 02:57:01 PM »
I've got a 2013 V7 Stone, at 45,001 miles.  After work yesterday, I started it up, it ran fine for about 10 seconds, then it got a lot louder.  Turns out the stub in the right side exhaust header had broken completely off.  This is the stub that fits into the cross over pipe.

Any thoughts on repairs?  I'm not sure it can be welded, but maybe I'm being pessimistic.  Dusty thought maybe fit a sleeve over this with a T fitting.   Other ideas?

Anyone have the stock header system sitting around which they might be willing to part with for a fair price?

Thanks.

Call Jim at Hamlin Cycles LLC.  I'd wager he has some at his shop.  Most likely mine and Gerry's'.

Looking at the design , my idea of a T fitting would require removal of the original saddle .

Swede,
This is an odd one.  I am leaning towards a weld repair, especially since this is a hidden location, so the repair can be ugly as long as it's seals the pipe.

P.S.  I'm impressed with the miles you've racked up.

Gotta be welded, any redneck engineering is going to fail.
