An interesting article in the new Motorcyclist about the 2016 Euro 4 standards. It says:
"As a rule of thumb if a bike hasn't been launched, or revamped, in the last couple of years, the chances are it won't meet the new rules." That means they can't be sold in Europe in 2016. There is a possible exemption but mostly to sell unsold models.
Manufacturers likely will not make separate Euro models and USA models. So let's make some wild guesses: Who's on the chopping block or awaiting a major update?
Honda: VFR's - CBR's.- Gold Wing
Kawasaki: ZX14 and Concours 14. - Versys 650 - KLR650
Suzuki: Hayabusa - DR650
Yamaha: V-Max
Moto Guzzi: All CARC models.
BMW: F800's? (Will we finally see the Nuda 900 motor?)
Ducati: ?
Triumph: 1050 models - 675 models - Rocket 3
Intermot might be interesting this fall. Look for some good deals on leftovers.
