2010 CalVin brake problem

2010 CalVin with 6,300 miles. Brake lever front brake works just fine.  Foot brake simply goes to the board, minimal braking effect.  Pump the brake and it builds up pressure and increases the braking effect. Once pressure is built up, holding the pedal steady, pressure falls.  I bled the front and rear calipers in the linked system.  Fluid looks clear and clean. I'm thinking master cylinder is shot already. Any other ideas or things I should check??

I agree it seems early, but I had the same internal bleed down in the rear master of my 98 EV.  No leaks.  It just bleeds away internally back to the reservoir.  Not sure if yours uses the same rear master.  I got:

Yoyodyne. SKU 10.4776.65

also MGCYCLE or Harpers would have 31666990

Mine didn't occur until 80K miles, but those are the exact same symptoms.  I think it was cheapest at Yoyodyne and a direct replacement.

Only other question would be bleeding technique.  The linked system can be a bear.  I always have the best luck with a huge syringe and I push fluid backwards from the caliper, through the master, up into the reservoir.  Just have to be careful so as not to geyser it up onto the bike!

I use a Mighty Vac to vac it out, and my son also pumps the pedal and adds fluid as needed.

I have no idea if they are rebuildable.  Done a many on cars and trucks, but not a bike.  Wonder if I can find a rebuild kit??

No.  Lawyers got in the way.  Getting nigh impossible to find any source for brake internal kits.

This catalog company will tell you anything you need to know if you have the patience for it.  They're like the sears and robuck catalog of catalogs. 

I crossed a few of the numbers from your link to Hondas using their search feature.  Note that the catalog is hosted by this other site, so be careful what you're clicking on.  Also, I have never ordered form K&L.  I just use it to reference mystery parts.  Also be aware that most of the time "special order" means "we'll add the bean to the production run numbers and when we have enough we'll make some."  The rest of the time it means "we have the listing from another catalog, but who knows if it exists?

They make Grainers look like a 7-11.  But again -- I just use this site to ID mystery parts -- like when the ebay seller just lists a part number and I'm supposed to already know all about it.  I have never ordered anything from them. 

I think they have all the catalogs and listings for about everything on the planet, but I don't think any of it is THEIR inventory.  So don't take the listing as meaning the part is extant.  For example, NISSIN had a recall on GSRX front brake m/cs.  When they were recalled the kits became no longer available.  But the kits remained listed as 'special order' items in the dealer catalogs.  The recalled m/cs started showing up on ebay for dirt cheap.  It was a super way to get into radial master cyls.  So folks bought $200 master cyls for $20 thinking a $12 kit would solve the recall problem only to find out that the "special order" kits were NLA.
