California Vintage Valve adjustment question!
« on: June 14, 2016, 09:17:31 AM »
On my 02 EV I like to adjust the intake at .003 and exhaust at .005. There is a D for right cylinder and an S for left cylinder.
On my 09 Vintage there is an S for left cylinder and a yellow arrow? Is that the right cylinder position? Appears to be tdc on compression. Push rods spin freely, and play in the stem. After that mark, a little further along on the flywheel are two lines with a third set back between them. Push rods are tight here. ALSO... are the valve settings on the Vintage engine the same. U.S. .002 intake, .004 exhaust, World, .004 intake, .006 exhaust? Thanks. Tony

D = Disa side.
S = Snot disa side.

I haven't looked for a timing mark to set valves for years. They have gotten away from putting marks on the flywheel, or they are simply to painful to find.
I have a LONG screwdriver, easy to find TDC. Just make sure you are on the right stroke.

The .004/.006 is good as far as I know.
